ADNOC uses innovative drone technology to plant mangroves
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) today announced it has signed a contract with Distant Imagery, a UAE-based environmental technology company, to plant 2.5 million mangrove seedlings across Abu Dhabi using innovative drone planting technology adopted by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).

Distant Imagery Nominated as Winner. n this vein, Friends of Ocean Action and UpLink and the Mangroves Working Group, launched the Blue Carbon Challenge. Salesforce, Conservation International, Coastal Oceans Research and Development – Indian Ocean (CORDIO) East Africa, REV Ocean, and GIB Asset Management joined this effort as supporting partners. Together, we sought solutions and tools that can build the supply of strong blue carbon credits. Our focus was to find blue carbon projects that advance the conservation and restoration of coastal and aquatic ecosystems that can enter the carbon market, as well as solutions that support and build trust and transparency in such projects.

EAD, ENGIE complete Phase II of Mangrove Rehabilitation Project
ABU DHABI, 20th January, 2022 (WAM) -- The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and ENGIE, the global energy company, announced the success of the second phase of the "Blue Carbon" Environmental and Social Responsibility project, in partnership with Distant Imagery. Using highly innovative drone planting technology, more than 35,000 mangrove seeds were planted in the Mirfa lagoon in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi deploys drones in vast mangrove restoration project
The official environmental protection agency of Abu Dhabi has teamed up with international energy company ENGIE in a large project using drones to analyze, prepare for, and carry out the aerial planting of thousands of seeds in the country’s mangrove rehabilitation project.
